Hey guys, I’m sorry I haven’t been posting. It’s been a while. I’ve been busy with other stuff like my personal life (There’s really no problem there, it’s just that I’ve been spending more time with my family), reading comic books, watching youtube videos, and writing for Game Vain. Obviously, there aren’t any reasonable excuses. Tomorrow, I’ll be posting more Comic Book News.

The convention was conceived by retailer John Barrett (a founder of the retail chain Comics and Comix) and originally held in the Oakland Convention Center, where it remained until 2003, when it moved to San Francisco’s Moscone Center. The show’s original name was the Wonderful World of Comics Convention.
Retailer Joe Field (of Flying Colors Comics and Other Cool Stuff) and his partner Mike Friedrich owned and operated the convention for fifteen years. In 2001, they brokered a deal with the management team that runs the San Diego Comic-Con International to make it part of the Comic-Con International convention family. This gave the San Francisco show a wider audience and has made it a venue for previews and early screenings of major motion pictures, in particular ones based on comic books. These have included Spider-Man 2 in 2004, Batman Begins and Fantastic Four in 2005, Superman Returns in 2006, 300 in 2007, Watchmen in 2009, and Kick-Ass in 2010. All of these events featured the stars of the films fielding questions from the audience. In addition, WonderCon features an event called “Trailer Park,” wherein trailers for upcoming films are shown.
While the main attraction of WonderCon has always been various retailers selling back issues of comic books and action figures, the exhibitorship has grown to include retailers of specialty DVDs. There is also an “Artists Alley” featuring mainly comic book artists selling artwork, signing books, and doing sketches; and mainstream celebrities signing autographed pictures. Academicians and comic industry professionals have held the Comics Arts Conference in conjunction with WonderCon.
In addition to the comic and movie previews is the Wondercon masquerade, which usually takes place on Saturday after the convention closes. Awards are given to those with the most creative performances, but anyone can participate.
In 2010, the convention had an attendance of 39,000 fans with 34,000 fans in 2009.
As a matter of fact, I will be able to attend WonderCon 2012 in March at Anaheim, CA. I will be there to enjoy the convention itself and be able to help the staff with certain jobs. I will be recording videos and taking pictures and will upload them here in wordpress.com, my facebook account http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1385634522, and on my tumblr account http://chubbyavenger.tumblr.com/. If you guys want an update from my perspective on WonderCon 2012, just follow me.
What’s up WordPress? I just won an auction in Listia.com. Listia.com is a website that lets you get the things you want for free. How does that work? I’m so glad you asked. Just register on Listia.com, It’s free by the way, you auction in your unwanted stuff. People who like your stuff bid on them. They bid in the form of credits. How do you get credits, when you register for the first time they give you 500 credits for no charge at all. So, that means you can already bid for the things you want on Listia.com, as long as no one outbids your 500 credits.
Wait, wait… That not all. If you want more credits, just be part of the community. Merge you facebook account with your Listia and get 50 more credits. Do the same thing for twitter and get another 50 for your account. What else? If you try to auction your unwanted things, let’s say an old video game console, i.e. atari, nintendo 64, playstation 1 and/or 2, take a picture of it, put in the description, and your on your way to more credits. Having the games is a plus. People with interest to your things will bid on them. The more bidders, the more credits you get.
Now, when you auction in your things, you get a choice of either shipping it yourselves(make sure to label that your product is free shipping) or the bidders have to pick it up from your place. If you’re the bidder, and you’re thinking you don’t have enough cash to shell out for shipping and handling, don’t bid on things that doesn’t say free shipping. If otherwise, go ahead and bid away. If you win the auction(and crushed the life out of the other bidders), make sure to put in you shipping address on your profile and send it to the auctioneer.
I just recently won. You want to know what I bid on? You guessed it. Comic Books. LOL.
Peace out WordPress.
As you may know, I’m into comic books. With that said, I also like Manga. What’s Manga? Manga is japanese for comics. So, Mangas are japanese comic books. These comic books are smaller but thicker. With insane artwork and more epic stories. From Samurais to Ninjas, from Monsters and Ghosts to Pirates, Or Samurai battling Robots to Basketball players who can see ghosts. The stories are endless.
One of the most popular Manga is Naruto.
Then there’s Bleach
I was walking down the aisle of this store, I forgot the name or where it was. But it was in the art section with a bunch of picture frames and paintings. And I found this, I just had to buy it for myself. It looks so cool.
Hey, what’s up wordpress peeps. I’m here once again to talk about myself, so we all can be better acquainted.
Today, I’ll be talking about my style of clothing. I usually wear something semi-formal. Or “Almost” semi-formal, as I like to call them. What does that look like? Well, one of those outfit would look like this, Plaid shirt, leather jacket with hoodie, skinny jeans, and a pair of Nike lowtops. Other timed, I’d wear something Semi-Formal. Lacoste shirt under a V-neck sweater, the same skinny jeans, and a pair of leather shoes.
Well, that’s about it. Those are my style. Either I’m wearing the other for MY “Casual” wear, or I’ll be wearing the other for parties and special occasions.
I guess this is my first post. For some reason, I had to (I just had to) make sure it would be all about me for the very first post of an ever expanding blog world.
So that’s me by the way, My name’s Austin Estebar. I’m the one on the right. I was born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to wealthy entrepreneurs. We have a mansion just by the beach… Gotcha’! My parents aren’t entrepreneurs, I’m sorry. My Dad’s the General Manager for Jeddah Marriott Hotel and my Mom works for the Medical Department of Saudi Arabian Airlines as a Senior Head Nurse. So, It’s all good. I’m the second of three children. I have a sister, who just got married(maybe I’ll show you the pictures in futures posts), and a younger brother. I grew up in a well established environment. My friends were always the sons or daughters of my parent’s friends. I read comics since I was… Well, I learned how to read through comic books. So, some of the posts you’ll see in this blog will either be me reading, buying, or collecting comic books. My parents are great cooks. We have archives full of family recipes, tweaks and improvements on great dishes, and family dishes. That’s also another factor in this blog, Food.
The other guy right there is my friend, Niccollo Lumague. We just finished our third period and decided to just chill and enjoy the sun. Under the shade. I know, where’s the sense in that. This was taken from iPhone. When I saw it, I thought it was photoshopped out of my iPhone. It looks good enough doesn’t it?
There you have it, my very first post in what otherwise will be a great blog.
