You’ve all heard the news. Marvel thought that having a summer soon-to-be-smash-hit blockbuster “The Avengers” Movie wasn’t enough, they announced in on late December that the next major event in their comic book Marvel Universe would be “Avengers vs. X-Men.” Now I got to be part of the conversation with the writers, Brian Michael Bendis, Ed Brubaker, Jason Aaron, Jonathan Hickman, and Matt Fraction. During the Liveblog announcement, the writers discussed the premise and the situation of both the Avengers and the X-Men leading up the big brawl that’s coming out on April 2012. There was a lot of hype and buzz and even drooling. The book is Bi-Monthly, meaning the 12-issue series will be released twice a month for a period of 6 months with a prelude #0 coming out on March 2012.
As I mentioned, there was a lot of drooling. That’s because of the artists that were involved in this massive event. Three of the most talented artist in the industry. John Romita Jr., Olivier Coipel, and Adam Kubert.
Sometime this new year, Marvel announced another thing that ties-in with Avengers vs. X-Men. That would be Avengers vs. X-Men: Versus. The main book, which is Avengers vs. X-Men, will have its own fair share of brawls and beat-downs, but AvX: Versus will the the title that focuses on the blood and sweat that will be pouring out of our favorite heroes when they fight each other head on. Think of AvX: Versus as the one-on-one match book. Each issue features a single hero from both the ranks of Avengers and X-Men that will fight head-to-toe.
Already they’ve sent out teaser photos in the web. Check them out:
